Repeat Prescriptions
Patients on long term treatments may order repeat prescriptions by;
- leaving their completed repeat prescription request form (please use ticks to order only those items required, crosses confuse us) at reception, or
- submit your form by post enclosing a SAE for its return.
- Registering for online services such as NHS App and ordering via the link at the top of this page.
We can send your prescription to some nominated community pharmacies if you have made arrangements with that pharmacy to dispense your prescription. Please ask at reception for details.
We regret that WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE PRESCRIPTION REQUESTS OVER THE TELEPHONE as the high number involved prevents other patients from getting through with more urgent requests, and staff are then diverted from other duties to service the request. You will be asked politely to submit a request in writing or by using the repeat prescription request form.
We do not supply ANTIBIOTICS on demand without a consultation to establish the need for the prescription, ensuring that it is appropriate and safe.
For STABLE MEDICAL CONDITIONS we may issue up to six monthly prescriptions at the same time. Your medication will be dispensed each month by the pharmacy. Patients will need to be reviewed before the next issue of prescriptions.
Please do not wait until you have run out of medication to order OR request repeat medication too early. Ideally please order when you have one week or less of medication remaining, this will allow the minimum of three working days to process your request and allow time for the pharmacy to prepare the medication.
Medication Reviews
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.
